BREAKING: FG Set to Declare Two-Day Ramadan Holiday

The Federal Government of Nigeria is reportedly set to declare a two-day public holiday to mark the end of Ramadan, according to sources familiar with the development.
The holidays are expected to fall on either Thursday 19, and Friday, March 20, or Friday, March 20, and Monday, March 23, 2026, in celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
Insider sources within relevant authorities revealed that the decision is aimed at allowing Muslims across Nigeria adequate time to observe and celebrate the important religious festival with family and loved ones.
Although an official statement is yet to be released, the anticipated declaration aligns with the traditional practice of the government granting public holidays for Eid celebrations.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection observed by millions of Muslims nationwide.
Observers say the expected announcement will bring relief to workers and students, many of whom have been awaiting confirmation to finalize travel and celebration plans.
More details are expected once the government makes an official proclamation.
