BREAKING: Rivers Assembly Finally Takes Action on Fubara's Impeachment

The Rivers State House of Assembly has officially suspended the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, following an intervention from President Bola Tinubu.

This decision was made during a resumed sitting of the House on Thursday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Earlier this year, during its first session of 2026, the House had initiated impeachment proceedings against both officials. The grounds for this action included allegations of gross misconduct, such as the demolition of the state assembly complex and unauthorized spending without legislative approval, among other charges.
