BREAKING: APC Declares Wike's Position If He Defect to Party as Tension Rises in Rivers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified that if Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, decides to join the party, he would operate under the leadership of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The APC emphasized that it respects the existing political structure and hierarchy, regardless of Wike’s position at the federal level.

Bala Ibrahim, the APC Director of Information, stated that while Wike would be welcomed into the party, his entry would not grant him control over the existing party structures in Rivers State.

Ibrahim further explained that party leadership is determined by current office and position rather than past influence.

He emphasized that political loyalty should reflect the current authority rather than past roles.

He said,” he will be given a seat, there will be a place for him.

“It’s a choice for him to be under Fubara. If you follow, you will be followed but if you don’t follow, nobody is going to follow you.

“When he was the governor he was followed; now that he is not the governor, he must follow. You can’t carry the position of leadership after vacating the seat.
