Victor Osimhen: The new king in Italy

Victor Osimhen made history on Thursday night powering Napoli to win a Serie A title after 33 years to become the new king in Italy.

The Nigerian forward scored the decisive goal in the second half as Napoli came back from trailing to Sandi Lovric’s opener at half-time.

Osimhen’s title-deciding strike against Udine was his 22nd goal in 28 league appearances and rightly caused bedlam among the massed ranks of away fans who took over Udine.

The Nigerian striker has had the best season of his career and been key to Napoli’s historic charge to glory, becoming, in the process, one of the most devastating centre forwards in European football, clattering in goals left and right.

Injury slowed down the 24-year-old striker’s scoring rate but between returning from a thigh injury in mid-October and the recent round of African Cup of Nations qualifiers last month, he averaged a goal a game. READ MORE…

Sonia, the daughter of former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, has reacted to the news of her parents’ conviction.

In an interview with BBC, Sonia said she feels guilty that her parents were convicted because they were looking for ways to find a solution to her health condition. She said although she understands why her parents were convicted, she disagrees with it from a “very biased perspective as their daughter.”

“I understand the conviction, however, I personally disagree with it. That is from a very bias perspective as their daughter, I will obviously always back my parents. However, the law has taken its course, we just need to move on as one family,” she said. READ MORE

President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Friday met with the leadership of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as consultation continue on the zoning of the leadership position of the 10th National Assembly.

Actress Onuoha: I hope they can extend Ekweremadu’s jail terms

Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha has reacted to the sentencing of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, for organ harvesting by a court in the United Kingdom.

Central Criminal Court in London on Friday sentenced Ekweremadu to nine years and eight months in prison for spearheading the move to bring a Lagos market trader to the UK to harvest his kidney.

Ekweremadu’s wife was sentenced to four years in prison while the family’s doctor, Obinna Obeta, got 10 years jail sentence after the court found that he targeted the “young, poor and vulnerable” kidney donor.

Onouha, who reacted to the ruling on her social media page, said the couple deserved the punishment. READ MORE
