Orokpo Blasts Vote-Buying, Urges Action in 2027

The founder of Encounter Jesus Ministry International, Michael Orokpo, has called on Nigerians to vote out incompetent leaders in future elections, describing the 2027 polls as a critical opportunity to reset the country’s leadership.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Orokpo reacted to the continued wave of killings and abductions across Nigeria, urging citizens to remain vigilant while also taking responsibility for the kind of leaders they elect. He warned that beyond prayers, Nigerians must make deliberate decisions that will shape the nation’s future.
He said, “Hundreds of people die in Nigeria but all we are interested in is optics.”
Lamenting the culture of vote-buying, he added, “When elections come, they will give you N2000 and both you and your children will remain where you are… they leave you until after four years then they come back again.”
Orokpo also criticised the tendency of voters to prioritise tribal sentiments over competence, noting that many often ignore guidance from spiritual leaders during elections. “When those leading you spiritually say this is where you should go, you don’t hear… you become tribalistic,” he said.
He stressed that insecurity affects all Nigerians regardless of tribe, urging citizens to look beyond ethnic divisions when choosing leaders.
Describing the 2027 elections as a turning point, he concluded, “Enough is enough, prepare for 2027… be alive to see them voted out.”
