As part of activities marking the creation of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared Monday, 2 February, and Tuesday, 3 February, 2026, as public holidays across the state.

The announcement was made in a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezar Adeniyan.

According to Adeniyan, the holidays are intended to enable residents to actively participate in events celebrating the state’s historic 50th anniversary, a milestone that highlights five decades of growth, resilience, and collective progress.

Governor Aiyedatiwa urged citizens to use the holidays to join the celebrations, reflect on Ondo State’s journey so far, and recommit to the shared vision of building a more prosperous and united state.

He, however, advised essential service providers to make adequate arrangements to ensure uninterrupted services throughout the period.
