Lookman: ‘Osimhen Too Arrogant, Nigeria is Not Napoli’ – Eagles Striker Under Fire After Clashing With Teammate

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is under serious attack by Nigeria fans and football administrator over his angry clash with Ademola Lookman during a 4-0 defeat of Mozambique in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday night.
Both players got on the score sheet in the first half, which Lookman providing the two assists for Osimhen’s goals.
Osimhen and Lookman were involved in a tense exchange after the Atalanta man seemed to take a shot instead of passing the ball.
Few minutes later, Osimhen stopped running in attack and asked head coach, Eric Chelle to take him off.
“I don’t think that is really important, the team won 4-0,” Lookman told journalists.
“Vic is my number one guy, everybody knows this. Top striker, top player so all of the rest is not important.”
Meanwhile, football administrator and former Gombe State commissioner for Sports, Gara Gombe has blasts Victor Osimhen for consistently being arrogance to his team mates following a clash with Ademola Lookman.
On his Facebook wall, Gombe said:
“MOROCCO LEFT OUT ZIYECH, AND HEAVEN DID NOT FALL.
CAMEROON LEFT OUT VINCENT, AND HEAVEN DID NOT FALL.
NIGERIA SHOULD, FOR ONCE, BENCH THIS GUY WHO THINKS WE ARE GOING NOWHERE WITHOUT HIM. HE IS TOO ARROGANT AND SOMETIMES STUPID. IF ERIC HAS LEVERAGE, HE SHOULD NOT START HIM IN THE NEXT MATCH.
LOOKMAN, CHUKWUWEZE, SIMON, AND ONACHU CAN DEMOLISH ANY DEFENCE IN AFCON, PROVIDED THE PASSES ARE COMING.
WHO THE HELL DOES VICTOR THINK HE IS? THIS IS NIGERIA, NOT NAPOLI OR GALATASARAY,” he concluded.
