NCC Boss Aminu Maida, Other Experts To Speak At Maiden IIC Africa’s Meeting

NCC reassures Nigerians of transparency as active telecom subscribers hit 171m

As the global digital economy landscape continues to evolve and setting new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) obligations for national leaders and industry regulators, the Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, and others experts are expected to speak at the inaugural meeting of the International Institute of Communications (IIC) Africa Chapter, scheduled for January 29, 2026.

Information on the proposed meeting from the IIC Africa Chapter indicated that the upcoming virtual meeting would create platform for industry leaders and experts to critically appraise the evolving cybersecurity landscape across the continent with a view to coming up with recommendations on how to combat the threats across the countries.

Specifically, the Institute maintained that the forum would feature discussions on the development of coherent regulatory and policy frameworks, as well as strategies to promote collaboration in sectors, embracing national boundaries in addressing emerging digital threats.

It further clarified that the stakeholder engagement, scheduled to virtually hold from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. West African Time (WAT), was part of its broader commitment to advancing dialogue on cyber resilience, connectivity, digital policy, and regulation across Africa.

In addition to the the NCC Executive Vice-Chairman another expert from Nigeria that is expected to speak at the maiden IIC Africa’s meeting is the Executive Chairman of Consultancy Support Services Ltd., an Abuja-based Cybersecurity, Policy & Information Communication Technology (ICT) Consultancy firm , Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola, among other key stakeholders and experts in cybersecurity, digital policy, and regulation from other countries.
