Gov Otti Breaks Silence Over Gunmen Attack On Convoy

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has addressed recent reports concerning an alleged attack on his convoy while en route to the Sam Mbakwe International Airport in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku, Otti clarified that it was actually an advance team of three members from his office who were involved in the incident.
This team was attacked by unidentified gunmen between Umuowa and Ihitte junction while heading to the airport.
Njoku emphasized that the governor’s convoy itself was not affected by the attack and reassured the public that no lives were lost during the incident. T
he statement detailed that the attack occurred in the early hours of December 2nd, involving the advance team assigned to support the governor’s visit to Sam Mbakwe Airport in Imo State.
“The incident occurred between Umuowa and Ihite junction, shortly before the Sam Mbakwe Airport Junction in Imo State.
“The general public is hereby informed that the convoy of Governor Otti was not involved in this attack, and no lives were lost during the unfortunate incident.”
