Reno Omokri Breaks Silence Over Ambassadorial Nomination

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his nomination as one of 32 new ambassador-designates.

In a statement shared on X, Omokri described the President as “Christlike” and credited him with teaching him the “meaning of forgiveness.”

He praised Tinubu for his “visionary and exemplary leadership” and committed to serving both his country and humanity in this new role.

He wrote, “The President has taught me the meaning of forgiveness and has helped me better understand what patriotism entails. In short, Christlikeness is demonstrated in him. He is the right man, at the right time, for the right job, and deserves the right hand of fellowship from all Nigerians.

“May God bless you, Mr President, and may Nigeria prosper as an indivisible entity with peace, prosperity, and progress under your able leadership.”

Omokri also acknowledged his parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, for shaping him “as a piece of clay they received from God, into what I am today.”

He extended special thanks to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

He said, “May God bless Malam Nuhu Ribadu. Although I have said this publicly before, let me repeat it today. If it were possible for all the goodness on Earth to be domiciled in a single human being, that person would be Malam.”

Omokri expressed gratitude to his wife, Hana, referring to her as “my yene konjoo,” and acknowledging her unwavering support during a challenging period of three years.

He noted that her presence helped stabilize his thoughts while he faced opposition from those who opposed the President, due to his steadfast loyalty to both the President and Nigeria.

Recently, President Tinubu submitted a list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate. This list features notable individuals, including former INEC chairman Mahmud Yakubu, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and former Enugu governor Ifeanyi Ugwu, among others.

The presidency indicated that the nominees will be considered for both career and non-career ambassadorial roles.

Once confirmed by the Senate, the selected nominees will receive their diplomatic assignments.

However, these nominations must first undergo Senate screening and approval before any official postings can be announced.
