EXPOSED: Four PDP Governors Plot Move To APC [FULL LIST]

Four governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are considering defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Party sources indicate that the move is linked to ongoing internal crises within the PDP and the governors’ desire to secure their political survival under the ruling party.
The governors are Peter Mbah of Enugu, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, and Agbu Kefas of Taraba.
The four governors were recently sighted in discreet meetings with key APC stakeholders in Abuja, fuelling speculation of imminent defection.
A PDP chieftain who asked not to be named told reporters that the party risks losing more members if its leadership fails to resolve disputes over zoning and internal democracy.
“The PDP is in a fragile state right now. If the leaders don’t act fast, these governors and others may formally declare for the APC before the convention season,” The Will quoted him as saying. The APC, on its part, is said to be intensifying efforts to woo strategic figures from the opposition to consolidate its grip on power ahead of 2027.

The order, which comes into effect will apply to new applicants and require companies to pay the fee for up to six years per worker.
The H-1B visa has long been used by US firms to hire skilled foreign professionals, particularly in the tech industry.
As reported by BBC, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick justified the action by stating: “The company has to decide… is the person worthy enough to receive a $100,000-a-year gift to the government, or they can go home, and they can go hire an American. They all have the big companies on board.”
Previously, administrative fees for H-1B visas amounted to around $1,500.
Critics warn the fee will devastate smaller businesses and start-ups. Immigration lawyer Tahmina Watson said: “Almost everyone’s going to be priced out. This $100,000 as an entry point is going to have a devastating impact.”
Jorge Lopez, chair of immigration and global mobility at Littler Mendelson PC, argued the order would hurt American competitiveness:
“A $100,000 fee will put the brakes on American competitiveness in the tech sector and all industries.”

Amazon, one of the largest users of H-1B visas, advised employees on Friday, September 19, not to leave the US.
In an internal advisory seen by Business Insider, the company told staff abroad to “return before tomorrow’s deadline if possible”, and warned others to avoid re-entry “until further guidance is provided”.

Fresh Looming Crisis: Rivers Stateman Knocks Lawmakers At First Plenary Directive To Fubara

An elder statesman and Convener of the Rivers State Leaders of Thought, Sunny Chukwumele, has faulted the state House of Assembly over its directive to Governor Sim Fubara on budget and list of Commissioner nominees.
Also an aide to Governor Fubara, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, expressed doubt that most of the Governor’s commissioners will return or be reappointed.
Naija News recalls that Fubara was suspended from office on March 18, 2025, by President Bola Tinubu amid a deepening political crisis stemming from his power struggle with his predecessor and godfather, Nyesom Wike, who now serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The suspension was part of a broader declaration of a state of emergency in the state, which also affected Fubara’s deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, paralysing democratic governance and halting legislative functions.
After the reinstatement, the Assembly members, during their first sitting, directed Fubara to submit the state budget and the list of commissioner nominees.
Speaking on the issue, Chukwumele, in an interview with The Punch, said Fubara has just resumed and should be given time to settle, rather than being given directives in such a manner.
He said, “They ought to have paid him a visit first, not in their plenary begin to dish out directives to the elected Governor. That was a very wrong step and a wrong move.”
Chukwumele also commended Fubara for dissolving the State Pensions Board and urged him to dissolve the board of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission as well.
He added, “We would be looking forward to further actions. He also must dissolve the State Independent Electoral Commission and other actions that will come from there.”
An aide to Governor Fubara, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, to the aforementioned publication, expressed doubt that most of the Governor’s commissioners will return or be reappointed.
He stated, “I doubt if that will happen because a lot of restructuring is going on as I speak with you. Many things are going on behind the scenes. This is the most I can say for now.”
