BREAKING: Tinubu appoints 9 new INEC resident commissioners

Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has sparked nationwide controversy after declaring that Nigeria belongs only to the Hausa and Yoruba ethnic groups.

In a viral video making the rounds on social media, Fayose dismissed the long-standing belief that Nigeria’s unity rests on a tripod of Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba.

He claimed that the Igbos have been marginalized and not counted among the country’s dominant groups.

He stated: “They said Nigeria belongs to Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba, but that’s a lie… take out that Igbo, stop including them because it’s a lie.”

The remarks have triggered widespread backlash, with many Nigerians accusing him of promoting ethnic hatred and fueling disunity.

Others, however, agreed with his statement, describing it as “an honest truth” about Nigeria’s politics.

@daveiyke_donnegro stated: “@isaacfayoseoriginal_ God bless you Sir for speaking the truth. I wish other Nigerians can shun tribalism and unite for the progress of Nigeria. Tribalism us a tool against Nigerians and the unity of Nigeria. Politicians have weaponized tribalism which enables them thrive in continued political and socioeconomic incompetence.”

@realtundr4 added: “I agree with what you said, sir, but look at it, does igbo really have d right candidate? Obi is just chameleon to me he’s not real, neither do they have the leadership experience as our current president @officialasiwajubat, the one and only politician that have ever created more millionaires and successful individual in the whole nation. @richeart4u said: “Those that have been president, were they given free or charge? Was there a law that stopped Igbo man from being a president? How do people become a president? Or do you mean Igbo have never been allowed to contest for presidency? Same things goes to women too, why are women not hugely represented in all positions even presidency? No one is stopping anyone from becoming anything, you just have to change your strategy and alignment. You can’t be doing same thing over the years and not get the desired result and still want to stick to that failed pattern to achieve a new result. Igbo people and their candidate must be encompassing. Hausa has been aligning more to Igbo people to get whatever position they wanted and why are they not returning the favour hugely? Align to anyone that can boost your change of winning and be well accommodating and understanding the power of choices and politicking. I might be wrong 0000. Na ma small knowledge I take respond oooo.”

Strike: No More N820/Litre; New Petrol Prices Emerge At Filling Stations; [DETAILS]

Published

on

The price of petrol has changed at filling stations, private depots across the country, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery

The development comes amid fears of fuel scarcity following threats Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and other unions to go on strike from today over concerns of alleged monopolistic practices by Dangote Refinery.

The association also cautioned that Dangote’s growing involvement in refining, storage, logistics and retail could marginalise existing operators.

The price change was also observed at Wosbab, Heyden and Ardova, each posting depot prices of N850 per litre.

Petroleumprice.ng data showed that the Integrated Oil and Sahara ex-depot prices at N830 were the cheapest on Monday, September 8.

Other depots like MRS Tincan recorded N823, Pinnacle N842, and Dangote Petroleum Refinery N840. First Royal sold at N846, while A.A. Rano matched the top price of N850.

The new figures suggest an upward shift from an average of N820 per litre most depots were selling a few days ago.

The upward trend comes amid fears of fuel scarcity following threats by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and other unions to go on strike from Tuesday, September 9, over concerns of alleged monopolistic practices by Dangote Refinery.

NUPENG accused the company of barring new drivers for imported compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks from joining unions, a move it described as a step towards “modern slavery” in the sector.

The strike action, it said, was not a full work stoppage but a signal that unresolved disputes could escalate and trigger wider disruptions in fuel supplyThe Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) confirmed on Monday that talks are going on to stop the strike.

VIDEO: How Father Mbaka heals 4-year-old boy who was paralysed from birth

Published

on

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest and spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, commands a significant following not only in the Southeast region but also nationwide.

Known for his outspoken criticism of government policies and political figures, he possesses a spiritual authority that enhances his public discourse.

Recently, Fr. Mbaka shared a moving testimony concerning a young boy who has lived with paralysis since birth. While addressing his congregation, he recounted the case of the child, who is the son of his senior sister’s family.

The child was born with a neurological disorder that rendered his spinal system incapable of supporting his legs. According to medical evaluations, this condition indicated that the boy would never walk.

“The testimony we have is that the senior sister, the sister who married out, has a son with dad. This small boy here from birth has been lame,” Mbaka said, pointing to the family members present. “He has a neurologic disorder and the spinal system medically will not be able to carry his legs.”

For verification, Mbaka introduced the child’s father, who is both husband to his senior sister and father of the boy. He explained that the boy had been a long-term patient at Parkland Hospital, where doctors had declared the case beyond medical correction.

“Look at the father here to the son and husband of father’s sister for verification purposes. This small boy is a patient at Parkland Hospital. The fathers are there,” he explained.

He further noted that the boy’s grandmother—his own mother—had previously shared with him the struggles the family faced in caring for the child, who could neither walk nor stand on his own. “The grandma of the son, which is father’s mother, told me last time of all that God has done for her—that this child that is paralyzed, not walking, using father’s language, total deformity,” Mbaka said.

While contrasting the condition of the young boy with that of his elder sister, who was described as strong and healthy, Mbaka expressed that the situation had baffled the family. “The sister, the senior, is agile. But this one, nobody knew what happened,” he remarked.

According to Mbaka, the testimony was not to highlight the severity of the child’s condition but to glorify God for sustaining his life despite grim medical reports. He reminded the congregation that what appears impossible with man remains possible with God.

“This child was given no chance, but God has preserved him. It is a sign that the Lord has the final say in every situation,” he declared.

The testimony resonated with worshippers at the Adoration Ministry, who responded with praise and thanksgiving. Many described it as a message of encouragement for families grappling with seemingly hopeless medical conditions.

One member of the congregation noted, “Father Mbaka is reminding us that even when doctors say no, God can say yes. This testimony gives us hope.”

Mbaka concluded by urging believers never to lose faith in God’s healing power, assuring them that the Lord who sustains life can also perform miracles beyond human understanding.
