Oborevwori felicitates Muslims on Eid-ul-Mawlid

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Governor Oborevwori in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, called on Muslims to seize the opportunity of the celebration to reflect deeply on the exemplary life and teachings of the Prophet, which emphasize peace, love, tolerance, humility, and selfless service to humanity.
He noted that at a time when the nation is striving for greater unity and social cohesion, it has become imperative for Nigerians, regardless of faith, to imbibe these values for the progress and stability of the country.
Oborevwori commended the Muslim community in Delta for their steadfast contributions to the growth, peace, and unity of the state.
He assured that his administration would continue to uphold policies that promote religious harmony, inclusiveness, and mutual respect among all faiths.

He wished the Muslim faithful a joyful and hitch-free celebration.

Oborevwori building roads to stand the test of time – Izeze

Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has said the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration is executing road projects that will not only be completed on schedule but also put an end to years of failed repairs with durable, long-lasting solutions.
Izeze gave the assurance on Thursday during an inspection of the reconstruction of Sokoh Estate Road, Off Airport Road, Effurun in Uvwie; the rehabilitation of Ughwrughelli/Erhidi roads; and the construction of Chief Lyn Ivie Akporiche Street in Agbarho, Ughelli North.
Speaking at the famous Sokoh Estate Road, Izeze said the Oborevwori administration is committed to delivering quality urban and highway projects that will stand the test of time.
He recalled his earlier promise to residents that the 1,350-meter road would be reconstructed to last a minimum of 20 years, permanently ending the perennial flooding and erosion that plagued the area during rainy seasons.
“The Sheriff in town has come with a solution. By December, the people will understand that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is truly a son of the soil who has finally delivered on Sokoh Estate Road,” the commissioner said.
He commended the contractors for the standard of work so far, describing it as “up to prescription,” while urging them to sustain quality and increase their pace despite the challenges posed by torrential rains and underground water in the area.
Izeze also praised residents of Sokoh Estate and adjoining streets for their patience and cooperation, noting that there had been no reports of interference or harassment of the contractors.
“This governor is a governor of the streets with plenty of street credibility. People respect him and the new order. I thank the residents for providing an enabling environment for the contractors to work,” he said.
On the Ughwrughelli/Erhidi road and the Agbarho project, Izeze said Governor Oborevwori is determined to deliver them before the end of the year.
He acknowledged the slow pace of work at the Ughwrughelli road due to flooding challenges but directed the contractors to double their efforts to ensure timely completion.
“With the level of commitment we are seeing, the people of Agbarho will have their road inaugurated by the end of this year, in line with the governor’s promise,” the commissioner assured.

Lioness of Aso Villa: The Evolution of Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at 65

There is a fire inside Oluremi Tinubu that never seems to burn less. It’s intense, yet innate and skin deep. It burns brilliantly and true, brightening her face and framing the feline girth that shelters her persona.
Her lips, like preternatural folds of flesh, serve as furrowed pillows to her speech and windows to dentition that captivates almost too often at first glance. Every first gaze at Nigeria’s First Lady and wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arrests many a looker caught between her carriage and élan.
Sometimes mistaken to be strict, Oluremi is chummier than often imagined. Swathed in attitude and pleasant punch lines masqueraded as sardonic humour, Oluremi, fondly called ‘Remi’ by friends and family, flaunts that rare spark and spiritedness that most women and First Ladies of her ilk suffer a dearth of.

DESOPADEC aligned with Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda — Delta Fresh Vision

Delta Fresh Vision has reaffirmed that the Delta State Oil- Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) remains a key driver of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda, dismissing claims that the administration had de-prioritized the interventionist agency.
In a statement jointly signed by its Acting Chairman, Wilberforce Arinze, and Public Relations Officer, Grace Akaighe, the group described as “ill-informed and mischievous” the narrative that DESOPADEC had been sidelined in favour of broader state-wide development policies.
According to the group, DESOPADEC was established by law to cater for the socio-economic advancement of oil-bearing communities in Delta State, with equal representation across the Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko, Ndokwa, and Ika nationalities.
They stressed that the Commission, under Governor Oborevwori’s watch, has been fully aligned with his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda, recording significant projects in infrastructure, healthcare, education, housing, security, environment, and human capital development.
The statement highlighted that DESOPADEC had delivered over 60 road and jetty projects across various ethnic nationalities, built new health centres in communities such as Egbokodo, Ugbori, Ode-Itsekiri, and Orugbo, and upgraded facilities at Koko General Hospital, Egberide, and Utagba-Uno.
The group added that in the housing sector, more than 50 residential bungalows had been constructed in communities, including Oboghoro, Ajansan, Ogheye-Egboroke, Kokodiagbene, and Tuomo.
In the education sector, it said that over 55 schools have been renovated or newly built, including Iwere College, Beach Secondary School, and Azama Zion Primary School, alongside the provision of ICT facilities.
According to the group, the Commission had also expanded electricity access, installed solar-powered street lights, improved water supply systems, and provided transformers to underserved areas.
On environmental and security measures, the group stated that DESOPADEC had invested in canalization, shore wall construction, and desilting projects to mitigate flooding, as well as constructed police stations and residential quarters to boost security.
The group noted that the DESOPADEC Skills Academy had empowered thousands of youths and women with starter packs, seed grants, and vocational training in ICT, fashion, welding, catering, and other trades.
Young entrepreneurs received N500,000 grants, while women beneficiaries were supported with N100,000 each, alongside equipment such as laptops, generators, ovens, and tailoring machines, the group stated.
Delta Fresh Vision also applauded Governor Oborevwori for being the first governor in the state to extend the enhanced minimum wage to DESOPADEC staff, a move they said had boosted morale and strengthened institutional stability.
Reaffirming the credibility of DESOPADEC’s leadership, the statement commended the Commission’s Managing Director, Chief Festus Ochonogor, and Chairman, John Nani, for their dedication in executing the Governor’s vision for oil-bearing communities.
It recalled that the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSTCOM) had earlier in 2025 also passed a vote of confidence on the Commission’s management.
Consequently, Delta Fresh Vision urged Deltans to disregard the “false narratives” being peddled by critics, stressing that DESOPADEC remained firmly on course under the Oborevwori’s administration.
