Osimhen scores again as Galatasaray beat Rizespor 3-1

In a thrilling encounter on Saturday, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen showcased his impressive heading ability by scoring a decisive goal in the 65th minute, leading Galatasaray to a 3-1 triumph over Rizespor.

The match began with an electrifying atmosphere as Davinson Sánchez put Galatasaray ahead in the 20th minute.

Seizing an opportunity from a well-taken corner by Gabriel Sara, Sánchez leapt high above the defenders to direct a powerful header into the net, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

As the first half progressed, Rizespor sought to regroup and found the back of the net just before halftime. However, their joy was short-lived as VAR intervened, deeming Dal Varesanovic’s goal offside after a meticulous review, leaving Rizespor frustrated.

The second half saw Galatasaray reassert their dominance on the pitch. Osimhen’s crucial header restored the team’s momentum, showcasing his aerial prowess and timing as he connected perfectly with a cross.

The Nigerian striker’s goal not only highlighted his importance to the squad but also marked his second of the season, following a stellar performance in which he scored during a commanding 4-0 victory against Kayserispor.

As the match drew to a close, Mauro Icardi sealed the victory for Galatasaray with a breathtaking stoppage-time goal in the 92nd minute, artfully assisted by Barış Alper Yılmaz.

This emphatic win not only secured three vital points but also marked Galatasaray’s fourth consecutive victory of the season, allowing them to maintain a flawless start in the Süper Lig with a total of 12 points. The night ended with fans celebrating their team’s triumphant performance, filled with excitement for what lies ahead this season.
