EXPOSED: How NNPCL Spent £14 Million On London Office - Report

Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has publicly accused influential figures within the oil and gas sector of orchestrating a campaign to oust him from his position.

His allegations came to light during a significant meeting held on Thursday, where he met with a delegation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by the association’s President, Festus Osifo.

This gathering took place at the NNPCL headquarters in Abuja.

During this meeting, Ojulari revealed that both his life and the lives of several members of the company’s leadership team are facing threats, a situation he attributes to his aggressive push for reforms mandated by President Bola Tinubu.

These reforms aim to breathe new life into Nigeria’s struggling refineries and transform the overall landscape of the petroleum sector.

He elaborated on his strategies, indicating that the NNPCL is actively looking into adopting the Nigeria LNG model as part of its plans to rehabilitate the refineries.

Ojulari emphasized his unwavering commitment to ensuring the facilities are restored to optimal functionality, vowing that management will persist in its efforts until substantial progress is achieved.

Responding to concerns raised by the PENGASSAN leadership on the stability of the NNPCL and the sector at large, Ojulari insisted he would stay the course despite mounting pressures.

“I’m not hiding from anybody. I’m not a politician. I may have to learn a bit about politics, but for me, this is about development, and I’m ready to learn,” he added.
