PSG’s new signing, Ajibade breaks silence on Ligue 1 move

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a prominent club in the French Women’s Ligue 1, has formally announced the signing of Rasheedat Ajibade, a forward from Nigeria’s Super Falcons. Ajibade has committed to a two-year contract, which includes an option for extension.
The Super Falcons captain transitioned to PSG after concluding her tenure with Atlético Madrid Féminine in the Spanish Iberdrola league, following the expiration of her contract.
Ajibade played a pivotal role in leading Nigeria to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and has already begun training with her new teammates.
In a promotional video, Ajibade was introduced to the club and its facilities by Jennifer Echegini, her teammate in the Super Falcons, who also plays for PSG.
The club shared the details of Ajibade’s arrival through various posts on their official social media platforms, proclaiming, “Rasheedat Ajibade signs for Paris Saint-Germain until 2027.”
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027.”
Ajibade signed a two-year contract till 2027 and shut down speculation of a possible move to America.
Speaking to the PSG website, Ajibade expressed excitement at the move to PSG.
She said, “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe.
“This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
Ajibade joins PSG after leading the Super Falcons of Nigeria to win the WAFCON and was named the best player at the tournament.
