2027 Presidency: Obi, Atiku, Jonathan are jokers – CSO

A civil society organization, Grassroots Advocacy for Peace and Good governance in Kebbi state has dismissed as mere political statement the single tenure pledge of the former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The general secretary of the organization, comrade Usman Muhammad Anache made the statement in an interview with our correspondent in Birnin Kebbi, according to him, those raising dust from the north were there before Tinubu but did nothing to the region in terms of human and capital developments.

He noted that late President Buhari who won the hearts of north and Nigerians turned out systematically the enemy of the north by closing all lands borders in northern Nigeria which aggravated hunger and poverty in the region “Tinubu a southerner came onboard and opened all northern borders which reduced food inflation and revived relationships between the region and neighbouring countries, so to say Tinubu is enemy of the north is incorrect”.

Additionally also, the civil watchdog chief said that the Sokoto/ Badagry federal road will no doubt boost the economic fortune of northern axis couple with the improved security In some parts of the region.

On Peter Obi.  he said: “He should be man enough to contest and not to promise single tenure because he is a Nigerian therefore has the right to contest but the as it is now he has slim chances of winning in the north saying coalition is dead on arrival as Atiku, Jonathan and Obi are jokers as far as 2027 elections are concerned,” he noted.
