Ekiti 2026: APC fixes guber nomination form at ₦50m, announces timetable for party primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revised schedule of activities and a timetable for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.

According to the timetable released on Tuesday by Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the National Organising Secretary of the APC, the electoral process will commence with the issuance of a formal notice to the party’s state chapter on Friday, July 26, 2025.

The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms is scheduled to start on Monday, August 26, and will conclude on Friday, August 30, 2025. The APC has set the cost of the nomination form at ₦40 million, while the expression of interest form will be priced at ₦10 million, resulting in a total of ₦50 million for prospective candidates.

Female aspirants and individuals with disabilities are exempt from the nomination form fee and will only be required to pay ₦10 million for the expression of interest form.

Additionally, individuals aged between 25 and 40 years will receive a 50 percent discount on the nomination form, thereby reducing their total payment to ₦30 million. The delegate form will incur a cost of ₦5,000.

The timetable outlines that the membership register updates will take place from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 9, 2025. The final deadline for submitting completed forms and accompanying documents is Thursday, September 11, 2025.

The screening of aspirants is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, with the screening results to be published on Wednesday, September 24. Aspirants who are dissatisfied with the results of the screening will have the opportunity to submit appeals on Thursday, September 25. The ward congress aimed at electing delegates will occur on Saturday, September 27, with any appeals arising from this congress being addressed on Monday, September 29.

The APC has set the date for the gubernatorial primary election for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, with all appeals expected to be concluded by Thursday, October 2, 2025. The party has stipulated that only financial members whose membership has been active for a minimum of three months preceding the release of this timetable will be eligible to participate.

Nomination forms will be available at the Directorate of Organisation, located within the APC national secretariat in Abuja. The party encourages interested members to make inquiries using the contact details provided in the official document.
