The question of whether we are living in the end times is a popular topic within many Christian communities. While some believers may grapple with this concept, it’s worth noting that there are varying perspectives on the issue.

Many Christians hope for a future filled with peace and redemption, rather than facing an end characterized by turmoil or evil. This reflects a broader desire among believers to promote positive values and actions in the world today.

The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has rejected the election of Rt. Rev. Cherry Vann, an openly lesbian cleric, as the Archbishop of Wales.

The Nigerian Anglicans described the election of a lesbian as Archbishop as a “serious departure from biblical teaching” and a threat to the unity of the global Anglican Communion.

As reported by Vanguard, The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

The Anglican Church Primate in Nigeria, Ndukuba, said Vann’s election signaled “spiritual decadence” and “an outright abandonment of the faith once delivered to the saints.”

Ndukuba warned that Bishop Vann’s elevation undermines the mission and credibility of the Anglican Church worldwide. He added that Bishop Vann’s elevation could hinder evangelism and mission efforts.

“The recent election of Bishop Vann is a clear revelation that many who claim to be members of the body of Christ cannot endure sound doctrine,” citing 2 Timothy 4:3–4.

“The Church of Nigeria warned that unless the Church in Wales repents and returns to biblical teachings, it risks becoming spiritually irrelevant.”

The Church of Nigeria warned the Church in Wales risks becoming spiritually irrelevant. Primate Ndubuka urged the Church in Wales to repent and return to biblical teachings.

Ndubuka called on Anglicans globally to reject what it termed “rebels” and “apostates.”

The Nigerian Anglican urged the church to instead align with conservative Anglican groups like the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), which uphold traditional scriptural values.

The Anglican Communion via its X handle @AnglicanWorld, announced the election of Bishop Rt Revd Cherry Vann as 15th Archbishop.

The Church in Wales has elected the Rt Revd Cherry Vann as 15th Archbishop. Originally from Leicestershire, Archbishop Cherry Vann was consecrated as Bishop of Monmouth in 2020. Cherry was ordained as a deacon in 1989.

She was then among the first women to be ordained as a priest in the Church of England in 1994. She then served as Archdeacon of Rochdale, in the Diocese of Manchester, for 11 years.
