Why I’m still single – Motunde of Mr. Macaroni

Nigerian actress, Motunde Sogunle is known for portraying the character Motunde, the fictional daughter of social media comedian Mr. Macaroni has recounted how she was asked to warm bed for bigger roles in the Nigerian film industry.
Motunde is a thespian, who set out in life to become a lawyer but ended up studying theatre arts at Redeemers University, where her path first crossed with Adebowale Adedayo aka Mr Macaroni.
Unknown to many, the jovial personality and podcaster, who became famous for her role as Motunde, the daughter of Daddy Wa, had been in the industry for many years before her breakthrough in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown where she played the daughter of Mr. Macaroni. I
In an interview with The Nation, she speaks on her relationship with Mr. Macaroni, how she rejected sex for role advances from top producers and directors as well as how she lost her boyfriend.
Would it be them asking you for a date in exchange for a role or something?
“I mean, yes, there’s nothing to hide. People have already told those stories a million and one times. Yes, it was always like, if you do this for me, of course, you know, I’m going to make you big, and I’m talking about big names. Like, let me just put that by the side. So it was like, “oh, come warm my bed. And then you get this role.” Maybe I was not supposed to be the main character, but they will switch me to the main character. And I just felt like, for how long am I going to keep hopping from this person to this person? So it was not a do or die affair. I was bold enough to be like, “I’m sorry, but I’m not going to take this offer.” So, yeah, I went through that.
Someone broke my heart. Oh my God. So right now, as we speak, I cannot say maybe when I walk out of this place. So, as we speak right now, I’m currently single. Let’s just say I was served breakfast.”
