Liverpool’s Arne Slot eyes bright EPL start against Ipswich Town

Arne Slot has carefully selected his debut Liverpool team for a competitive match against newly-promoted Ipswich Town in the Premier League, signaling the beginning of an exciting new chapter under his leadership.
This summer, the Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, succeeding the German who had led the team for nine successful years before his departure.
Slot has successfully overseen a highly impressive pre-season, with the Reds clinching victory in four out of six matches. However, the team remains the only top-flight side yet to make a signing this summer.
The EPL match is scheduled for 12:30pm today, commencing with an away game at Portman Road against Ipswich. Slot has revealed the lineup for Liverpool’s first Premier League match.
Slot has put his faith in both Jarell Quansah over Ibrahima Konate at centre back, with Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson joining the young Englishman in defence.
Alisson Becker unsuprisingly got the nod in goal, with Ryan Gravenberch preferred in his new deeper midfield role.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai line up alongside the Dutchman in midfield while the front three for the Reds sees Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota link up.
Slot, who joined Liverpool after three successful years Feyenoord, has impressed fans and pundits with his early dealings in the Reds hotseat.
He will hope to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title this season, with the Dutchman set to rely on a squad littered with quality.
The clash at Portman Road is set to be an intriguing challenge for Slot and Liverpool though, with Ipswich in action for their first game in the top flight since 2002.
Kieran McKenna has overseen a remarkable run of back-to-back promotions for the Tractor Boys, with the Northern Irishman since strengthening his side heavily this summer.
The likes of Omari Hutchinson, Ben Johnson, Jacob Greaves, Liam Delay, Arijanet Muric and Kalvin Phillips are among the new additions to arrive for a significant outlay.
Ironically, Ipswich’s last game in the Premier League also came against the Reds, with a humiliating 5-0 defeat condemning them to relegation at the end of a difficult 2001-02 campaign.
