Peter Okoye: P-Square is a combined efforts, don’t discredit me

Peter Okoye writes brother amid ongoing feud

Singer Peter Okoye (Mr. P) has written an open letter to his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) in response to Paul’s recent interview about their second split.

Mr. P addressed Paul’s claims that he wrote 99% of P-SQUARE’s songs and discredited Paul’s statement that their song “EjeAjo” was a failure.

Mr. P lists several successful songs he wrote and contributed to, feeling undervalued and disrespected by Paul’s comments.

Mr. P emphasised that P-Square’s success was due to their combined efforts and unique unity, not individual talent.

He expressed disappointment that Paul has turned their decorated music group into a laughingstock again.

Mr. P praised Paul’s songwriting ability but said Paul should show gratitude instead of rubbing it in his face.

Mr P said in part: “My dear brother Paul,

Just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else. However, seeing you grant countless interviews where you constantly

discredit my efforts in the group that we both created and built together really speaks volumes. In your recent interviews, you claimed that you wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE songs and discredited me by saying that our song with Tl “EjeaJo,” which I wrote, was a failure. You went as far as using the YouTube views to discredit me once again. You never acknowledged the other songs like “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It,” “Temptation,” “Alingo,” “More than a Friend,” “Shekini,” “Say Your Love,” “Gimme Dat,” “Senorita,” “IGBEdu,” and a few others. Were these songs also considered failures as well?

“Every time I have spoken in interviews about P-SQUARE, I have always used “we” and “us” because I saw us as a team. But whenever you speak, it’s always “l” and “me,” even when I’m standing right beside you. It’s as if I never existed. My brother, neither of us is the most talented artist in the world, but you fail to understand that God gave us this talent and even granted us another chance to excel after our last breakup. Instead, you chose to turn the most awarded and decorated music group in Africa into a laughingstock again.

“One thing you need to understand clearly is that the fans didn’t fall in love with P-SQUARE because of who sang or danced the most. What made us special was the magic that came from our combined effort – us two! P-SQUARE was a force, and the fans fell in love with P-SQUARE because of our uniqueness and unity.

“We both have talents, no doubt, and I have often praised you in our interviews for your songwriting ability. I have also praised anyone who has ever written a song for us or even for me as Mr. P. But instead of showing gratitude for my kind words, you seem to find satisfaction in rubbing it in my face, forgetting that it is by God’s grace that we have come this far”

2027: APC finally welcomes Kwankwaso’s defection, reveals condition

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Fulham for April 20

There’s something they call white lie. My story is crazy, when I say crazy I mean I need to write a book about my life because sometimes when I sit down and I look at the mirror and I look at myself I’m like oh girl, how did you pull through?

I didn’t come from a balanced family. When I say balanced, I don’t mean financially. My family financially were very okay, but my upbringing wasn’t balanced because of the things that were going on with my dad and my mom and my family. So I did not come from a balanced family and one thing I craved and wanted was my kids to have a balanced home.

So when that didn’t happen, the first thing I did was to block my kids off everything that was going on. My kids didn’t have access to social media or phone or anything until they were like probably 15 or 14.

That was when I allowed them to start even knowing what they call social media or whatever it is. They didn’t have access to reading newspapers or anything because I told a lot of white lies and that was the fact that your dad is a traveler, he travels a lot.

So they didn’t realize that we were separated for a very long time and I made sure that no matter how angry I was with their dad, I allowed him access to his kids when he came home to visit. I bought Christmas gifts, New Year gifts. I always had to double the gifts I will buy: one from him, one for me and make sure his own is bigger.

After scandalous marriage, Toke Makinwa don’t mind becoming 5th wife, gives reasons.

After scandalous marriage, Toke Makinwa don't mind becoming 5th wife, gives reasons.

Following a tumultuous and highly publicized scandalous marriage, media personality Toke Makinwa has expressed a willingness to embrace the role of a fifth wife.

According to Nigerian Tribune, she shares her reasons with conviction, revealing layers of resilience and an open heart, unafraid of the societal judgment that often accompanies such a bold choice.

In a recent episode posted on Instagram, Toke humorously but openly declared her readiness to become a second, third, or even fifth wife if the opportunity arose.

Toke has often spoken about how the breakup left her emotionally wounded and forced her into deep reflection.

“That chapter left me broken,” she once said, describing how hard it was to move on after such betrayal.

Now, at 40, she’s embracing her reality with a new sense of confidence and clarity. Rejecting societal pressure, she boldly stated: “I’m 40, single, and childless. I said it—and nothing happened.”

Toke also acknowledged that had she rushed into another relationship, she might have ended up in another failed marriage.

“I used to be ashamed… but the truth is, if I’d remarried, it would have ended in another divorce. Life teaches hard lessons,” she admitted.

Her willingness to consider a polygamous marriage arrangement challenges traditional views, especially around what’s considered acceptable for women.

“At this stage in my life, I’d marry again—even if it means being wife number five,” she joked.

Her comment reflects a change in her outlook on love and marriage, possibly shaped by the painful end of her marriage to Maje Ayida in 2017, which ended in scandal.

Toke’s story is resonating with many who face similar societal expectations. Through her transparency, she’s not just stirring controversy—she’s promoting a new understanding of love, fulfillment, and personal growth.

Her courage in addressing these often-taboo topics is sparking meaningful discussions about what it really means to live a full and authentic life today.
