‘Osimhen dented his own image internationally’ – Why Napoli striker faces rejection

A source from the Nigeria Football Federation has revealed why embattled Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is facing multiple transfer rejection from top clubs in Europe, ThePAPERS reports.
Osimhen who recently lambasted former Super Eagles coach, George Finidi as well as cursing critics in a viral Instagram live video following his exclusion from national team assignment. His antics has been questioned as reigning Africa Footballer of the year who is believed to appear in better explanation than insulting his national team coach.
Osimhen’s behaviour divides the social media while many Nigerians demand apologies from him but some believe he’s too big to tender apologies having earned enough money in his career.
Speaking with a top member of the Nigeria Football Federation who prefers anonymity, said the former cade star has dented his own image by insulting a legend of his own country and being unapologetic about it, a major reason some clubs rejected him to avoid dressing room misconduct.
“He was nobody before he came to U-17 camp, he was actually dropped at a point, but Amuneke just felt he could give him another chance during the training session, and that was how he made it. The same country who made him suddenly became a rag?’ he questioned.
“He’s our boy and we made him, we can’t be praying for his downfall because he’s our star boy but he needs good advisers around him. Those backing him not to apologize are not helping him but he won’t understand now because he has everything he wants now. But his action was a regrettable one for him, he knows that’s it.”
“He has issues within some caucus in Napoli, and I don’t think staying in Napoli is advisable for him. He needs to get over his rejection from clubs and be a better player next season with good conducts. I think he needs to understand and realise the errors in the video he did. White men will never trust you when you engage them in doing something. Osimhen was recording Finidi in presence of foreigners, what message was he passing? White men are wiser, they will never trust you because you have betrayed your own skin,’ he sounded off
