Kano protesters vandalise NCC office, set vehicles on fire at High Court premises

Some criminal elements on Thursday, August 1, infiltrated the nationwide protest in Kano, vandalising the Digital Industrial Park (DIP) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
The NCC office, representing the northwestern region of Nigeria, is located along State Road.
The equipment looted at the NCC office, which is to be commissioned on August 7, is worth billions of naira, an inside source said.
āThe protesters in their numbers invaded the centre and started breaking into offices,ā a reliable source said.
The hoodlums also set ablaze two vehicles parked at the State High Court premises.
Tensions heightened in various areas of Kano, as protesters of the #EndBadGovernance took to the streets to voice their grievances over soaring food prices
Vehicle screens were smashed, drivers harassed and mobile phones snatched from pedestrians as the vandalism spree went on.
The official bus of Channels Television in Kano was vandalised and its windscreen smashed as violent protesters descended on journalists in the vehicle covering the protest.
