Mohbad: Bukky Jesse lied on relationships with Elegushi, Wunmi – Oyinlola

Following allegations by online blogger and #justiceformohbad activist, Bukky Jesse’s recent dragging of some fellow supporters of the struggle to ensure justice for the late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, one of those she alleged to be working as spies for Lagos Monarch, Oba Saheed Elegushi and Wunmi, wife of the late musician, has described Jesse’s claims as pure lies and blatant fabrications.
According to Otunba Adewale Oyinlola, popularly referred to as Chairman among pro Mohbad activists, it came to him as a shock to hear the allegation by Jesse, adding that he has no relationship with the people she alleged him to be fronting for.
Oyinlola, an England based humanitarian of Nigerian extraction, recalled that he joined the online discourse on Mohbad out of his desire to aid the quick resolution of the impasse.
Expressing his disappointment in Jesse, Oyinlola recalled that she has never met nor discussed with either Elegushi or Wunmi before, challenging anybody, including Jesse with contrary evidences, to provide such in public.
He also made it clear that he has never had any dealing with Bukky Jesse herself, be it physically or on social media to warrant any disagreement over any issue whatsoever. Hence he finds her attacks on his person unprovoked. However, as a civilized individual, he refrained from engaging her in the same manner but rather chose to set the records straight.
Speaking in a release he made available to the media, Oyinlola explained that the only link he can guess to the ongoing crisis is his (Oyinlola’s) meeting with Mohbad’s father in Abuja recently in company of some other persons including Mr. Azeez Ayorinde (Gurexy) and Mrs. Yinka Fabudah.
Speaking further, he explained that his decision to speak out on the matter is just to set the records straight about what happened and to advise all bloggers and social media activists, (especially, Tolani Ilesanmi, aka ComfyTV,) to refrain from further use or promotion of the blasphemy, negative, and malicious materials from Buki Jesse on their platforms and YouTube pages.
Explaining what transpired, Oyinlola recalled that “I got myself involved in the #justiceformohbad movement because I feel I could contribute my quota to helping Ilerioluwa Aloba and his father get justice after his untimely death in unclear circumstances.
“I do come to social media to engage in discussions after work and as a concerned Nigerian, I was willing to contribute my quota.
” And we did what we could to the best of our ability, even if it was just for a week or two. We made our mark and the records are there for all to see.
“Now, fast forward to the current situation; I came to Nigeria for the 2024 Ojude Oba festival and returned to Abuja after the ceremony on Ijebu Ode a couple of weeks back. I am based in England. But anytime I am in Nigeria which I do often, if I am not in Abuja, I’ll be in Lagos or Ijebu Ode.
“Let me say that before now, I had been introduced to Mr Aloba, Baba Mohbad by one Mr. Famuyiwa and I had gotten his phone number back then. We had been communicating all along without issues. Whenever I need clarifications, I use to call him or chat him up. And he usually responds to my questions. Mostly, I used to chat him up.
“When I got to Abuja, I had earlier learnt from Lady Aries that one of our members who was earlier arrested as a result of the movement’s activity was in town. So I reached out to the to come so we can meet. She came and we exchanged pleasantries and she left.
“The next day, I saw baba Mohbad on Berekete show. That was how I knew he was in Abuja. I thought of seeing him and so I reached out to Andy to ask him if it would be a bad idea if I go see baba Mohbad. He said it is a good idea. He particularly said if I don’t go see him and people later got to know I was in Abuja, it will be misinterpreted as anti-justice.
“So I called Gurexy to help call baba Mohbad and ask him if I could come see him. His phone rang out twice and he didn’t pick. I then called iamYinka to inform her that I want to go and see baba Mohbad but Gurexy is not picking his phone. She then advised that I call baba Mohbad myself. So I called him up . He didn’t pick the call but later called me back himself few minutes later.
“We exchanged pleasantries as people who knew ourselves before and I asked if and where I could come see him. He gave the phone to the person. With him to describe his location for me so I can come.
I then called Yinka and pleaded with her to come along with me. She refused profusely at first but I begged her to honour me by going with me. She obliged and we went there together.
“We got there and we discussed with baba peacefully under a very good atmosphere without any issue. We then went for dinner together the same day.
It was at the dinner it became necessary to speak to Iya Mohbad based on the conversation we’ve had so far.
“I asked who had Iya Mohbad ‘s number, baba Mohbad said he doesn’t have it. Gurexy said he has it and I asked him to call her. He did and went to the toilet to speak to her because of the noise. He later gave me the phone and I spoke with her too. I gave the phone to baba Mohbad and he also spoke with his ex wife peacefully and calmly, no issues.
“Before we left the place, we all agreed all the events and happenings of the day are not meant for social media but in search of peace and justice. We all agreed it should be top secret and must not be used as content. Then I went to drop everybody off one by one. All these were out of my honest gesture. Nothing more in it for me and God is my witness.
“Sadly, the next thing, by Saturday, I was being dragged left and right on social media as anti-justice working for Elegushi and Wunmi Mohbad. And by Monday, Bukky Jesse, on her Facebook page, posted my picture and called me so many unprintable names for no just reason. This is somebody I have never met, or discussed with before. I cannot even imagine all she said about me.
“Then she followed it up with several podcasts where she made wide allegations about me.
All that she said, including claims that I sleep with married women and that she has evidence. She added that a whole me, I am 28 years old (sic) are proof that she doesn’t even know me and that she merely fabricated these claims just to malign me.
“I would just want the world to disbelieve her and not see me in the light she has painted me. She lied and I am still trying to find out why she did.”
Disappointed by the turn of events, Oyinlola, aside from reporting the attacks on his person by Jesse to the authorities, has also announced his disassociation from the #justiceformohbad movements. He has also instituted legal actions against Jesse in Manchester while the police in both Nigeria and Manchester are already looking into the matter on his behest.

“TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN/PUBLIC
I hereby write to formally dissociate myself from the “Justice for Mohbad Movement” effective
today, July 8, 2024.
“My decision to withdraw from the movement is solely based on personal grounds, which I deem
necessary for my own well-being and professional pursuits.
“I appreciate the efforts of the movement towards seeking justice for Mohbad, but I must prioritize
my own interests at this time and mental health. Most importantly, your show of support and solidarity can not be over emphasized.
“Please accept this letter as formal notice of my withdrawal from the movement. I wish the movement, Mr Joseph Aloba, and true justice fighters continued success in their endeavors.
“But I will no longer be affiliated or connected with anything around Mohbads’ death and issues. Thank you for your understanding,” Oyinlola, popularly known as Chairman on Tiktok, said in his public announcement.

Popular Skit Maker Laments Losing ₦3.7m iPhone At Luli Concert

Popular skit maker Samuel Bankole, widely known as Samuel Banks, is facing a difficult time after losing his newly purchased iPhone 17 Pro Max at a concert.
Just days before the incident, the content creator who recently celebrated buying a new home had been actively promoting the Luli Concert organised by the Celestial Church of Christ, expressing excitement about the event and what attendees could look forward to.
In a promotional video for the concert, which took place on Friday at Tafawa Balewa Square, Samuel was seen dressed in his signature white garment.
However, a viral clip circulating online shows a distressed Samuel Banks searching for his missing phone alongside his partner and several others.
The comedian was seen pacing anxiously while discussing the situation with a man nearby, as his partner stood by looking visibly concerned.
Onlookers could be seen attempting to call his number in hopes of locating the device, but their efforts appeared unsuccessful.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has suffered such a loss.
A few years ago, popular disc jockey Florence Otedola, famously known as DJ Cuppy, had her phone stolen in London after it was snatched from her hand while walking down the street.

Adunni Ade Wins ₦20 Million Law Suit Over False Dino Melaye Dating Report

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has recently achieved a significant legal victory as a Lagos High Court awarded her ₦20 million in damages.
This ruling comes after she filed a lawsuit against a media platform for publishing false claims about her dating Senator Dino Melaye. The court’s decision highlights the importance of accountability in media reporting.
This case, filed under suit number LD/17781MFHR/2024, centered on an article published in January 2023 titled “Six Popular Nigerian Actresses Who Have Been Accused of Dating Dino Melaye.” In her claim, Adunni Ade contended that the report painted her in a misleading and offensive light, infringing her constitutional right to privacy under Section 37 of the Nigerian Constitution as well as under the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
In defending itself, the online platform and its reporter argued that Adunni Ade had posted personal photos publicly on social media and that she delayed bringing the suit. However, Justice Ibironke Harrison rejected those arguments. The court held that the misuse of a person’s name or image does not require that data be voluntarily submitted by the claimant, and that a misleading portrayal (false light) is actionable in Nigerian law.
When judgment was delivered on June 24, 2025, the court ordered removal of her name and image from the contentious article and awarded her general damages of ₦20 million.
Legal analysts describe this ruling as landmark. The recognition of a “false light” claim marks a significant development for privacy and defamation law in Nigeria.
In months prior, Adunni Ade had threatened legal action over other fabricated stories and misquoted statements circulated online.

Meet Nigeria Billionaire With 19th Wives – ‘He Can’t Satisfy All Of Them’: Nigerians React

In a society where many Christians criticize polygamy, it’s interesting to observe that some pastors have been known to engage in the practice themselves.
In contrast, Muslims typically embrace the idea of having two or more wives as an essential element of their faith. This cultural difference is also reflected among Nigeria’s wealthiest individuals, particularly billionaires, who often have multiple wives.

Billionaire businessman Jim Brown shocked Nigerians once again by marrying his 19th wife, Erica, with all his other wives in attendance. His growing family raises big questions about culture, wealth, and polygamy in Nigeria.
Delta State billionaire Jim Brown has sparked a conversation among many Nigerians on social media following the news of his wedding to his 19th wife, Erica. The development elicited varied reactions from netizens, which ranged from shock to laughter and curiosity.
Brown, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GimBrown Marine Security Oil and Gas Limited, is not the first wealthy Nigerian to have as many wives. Still, his story has reignited debate and conversations about polygamy in Africa’s biggest country.
While some Nigerians are of the opinion that marrying multiple wives is unacceptable and an excessive indulgence, others view it as an expression of cultural tradition.
However, one question keeps lingering in this writer’s mind: since Hilda Baci broke the first Guinness record two years ago and the most recent record – cooking the biggest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice- some Nigerians have been infected with the ‘Guinness record-breaking’ fever.
Could it be that Jim Brown has been infected and intends to build one of Nigeria’s largest family empires? Let’s dive in, shall we?
For centuries, men in traditional and religious settings married multiple wives, which means polygamy isn’t an alien concept or unusual in many parts of Nigeria. Royalties, dignitaries, and wealthy men often engaged in marrying multiple wives, which is often seen as a symbol of influence, power, and legacy.
However, Jim Brown’s case of marrying 19 wives (with each marriage celebrated publicly) is largely viewed as less a personal choice and more a deliberate building of a family legacy.
Additionally, with wealth and influence on his side, Jim Brown may be following the same path as kings and traditional rulers in the past, expanding his family line, strengthening alliances, and securing loyalty.
Every woman the billionaire marries means more children, and more children mean a wider family tree, more heirs to carry his name, and ultimately, more influence in business, politics, and society at large.
Based on social media posts and reports circulating on the internet, his other 18 wives attended his wedding to Erica, which suggests some level of unity, acceptance, and togetherness within the home.
Though critics argue that managing such a household might be chaotic, others believe that if the household is carefully structured with roles, responsibilities and rights equally shared among the wives, the home will thrive. In line with this, Jim Brown may not just be building a family; he may be building a small community of his own.
With 19 wives and counting, billionaire Jim Brown is not just making headlines; he may be creating one of Nigeria’s most popular and talked-about family empires to be recorded in Nigerian history.
Social media reactions
The unusual marriage sparked widespread online debate, with many Nigerians sharing sharp opinions:
adaise00 commented: “Na still young men go help am do the satisfaction last last…”
Baseonbelive0 wrote: “He can’t satisfy all of them. They will be cheating on him.”
dannito567 remarked: “For this Tinubu Economy?!!! How can Tinubu believe that Nigerians are suffering ”
i_am_yickyd reacted: “19th wife keh”
becca added: “He still has a side chic”
FranklyneKlyan commented: “If you check am well, some of them fit don insult Yul Edochie tire.”
The billionaire’s marriage continues to trend online, with many questioning the practicality, morality, and motivation behind his choice.
