Wizkid the Jay-Z of new generation, says Terry G

Singer Terry G has showered accolades on colleague Wizkid, drawing parallels between him and the iconic American hip-hop artist Jay-Z.

He emphatically declared Wizkid as the Nigerian counterpart of Jay-Z, acknowledging his remarkable achievements and profound influence on the music industry.

Terry G also shared a memorable experience, recounting the time Wizkid visited his residence in Ishaga in 2016 for a recording session, resulting in the creation of four collaborative tracks.

He expressed deep admiration for Wizkid’s humility, work ethics and dedication to his craft, further solidifying his position as a trailblazer in the Nigerian music scene.

Featuring in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G expressly said: “Wizkid is the Jay-Z of his generation. He’s the first [born child of the new generation of Nigerian musicians] and we’ll always give it to him. One thing I like about Wizkid is his carriage. He has inspired a lot of people.

“Wizkid came to my house in Ishaga in 2016 to record a song with me. I was very happy he came. We recorded 4 songs together. God bless Wizkid,” Terry G added.
