PHOTOS: Gov Sani receives 137 freed schoolchildren in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna has received the rescued Kuriga schoolchildren at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna State.

The students were accompanied by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of One Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army Major Gen Mayirenso Saraso and other Army officers.

They were received by the Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State Governor Sani Kila and the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan.

While presenting the children to Governor Sani, the GOC said six out of the 137 rescued students are hospitalised at a military hospital.

An excited Governor Sani also exchanged pleasantries with the rescued schoolchildren.

He cautioned against politicizing insecurity in Kaduna, assuring residents that the security of lives and properties remains a priority for his administration.

But he warned those he described as conflict merchants to stop, urging the media to also be cautious in the way they report security issues in the country

Last night, the governor had interacted with some of the students.

The students were rescued after two weeks in the captors’ den.
