Rumours reek like cow dung, especially those borne of malice and ill resolve. Consider, for instance, the stench of the rumour currently doing the rounds, about Greg Uanseru’s alleged bid to marry a third wife; it is wholly repugnant and indefensible by the masterminds.

Yet mischief makers commit time and passion to spread it, basking in its stench, hoping it would fertilise their ill wishes for the billionaire magnate, Uanseru.

The faceless elements responsible for the rumour have made it their favourite pastime to obsess about the goings-on in Uanseru’s life; when they are starved of information, they fabricate what they can, sniffing on the stink of their revolting tittle-tattle with the relish of the proverbial he-goat snuffling the behind of every she-goat within its reach.

Contrary to the malicious rumour of his alleged plans to marry a third wife, Uanseru has no such plans, according to sources very close to him. Rather the millionaire mogul and brain behind GCA Energy is focused on enjoying a blissful wedlock with his two beautiful wives.

Very close associates of the millionaire businessman and President/CEO of GCA Energy Limited have dismissed the rumour claiming that right now, he only has eyes for his two ravishing wives, Emma and Betty.

Notwithstanding their dismissal of the rumour, mischief makers insist that Uanseru is planning to take a third wife in the person of a very young beautiful girl of Igbo extraction.

There is no gainsaying Uanseru is a ladies’ man and he has the money and wherewithal to keep a harem of wives if he chooses, but the recent rumour has been severally debunked by his very close friends and associates – who should be in the know.

Whatever the truth is, one thing is certain, Uanseru has every right to take a third wife if he chooses and he possesses the wisdom to run a peaceful polygamous home as evidenced by the undisguised love and camaraderie displayed by his two wives, Emma and Betty, and their kids towards each other. The two women are living together happily and tolerating each other.

There is no gainsaying that Uanseru is having the time of his life; he is truly having a blast leading the life of a ladies’ man cum socialite even as he keeps a blissful, peaceful home with his wives and children.

He is certainly living a charmed life and the only thing missing, so far, is his bosom friend, the late Captain Hosa Okunbor, whose death left him very lonely and robbed him of a dependable wingman.

If there’s one thing Uanseru commits to, constantly, since he lost Capt Okunbor, it is his frequent attendance of parties and any available fun event. These days, no party is complete without Uanseru’s appearance. Some say, he became outgoing and turned a party animal overnight to cope with the loss of his friend. They say that is his way of expressing grief, his method of dealing with the irreparable loss of a man whose friendship and goodwill were so dear to him.

Uanseru is also quite generous to the womenfolk, in particular, as he throws money around like a drunken sailor in his bid to give every female acquaintance or love interest a treat.

Against the backdrop of his blissful life, some shady folk have started a rumour insinuating that his oil business has been in decline since he lost his friend, Capt. Okunbor.

But The Capital can tell you for free that, that is a lie from the pit of hell. Uanseru’s business is thriving; save for the economic hardship that is affecting all the businesses in Nigeria of which he barely feels a pinch, there has been no incident of note indicating that his business is heading for bankruptcy.

The billionaire magnate and lover of Rolls Royce among other luxurious playthings of the rich, is living the life most other men can only dream of. Thus no degree of ill will and malicious rumour could dent his hard-earned reputation.

Too many celebrity stories are borne of the fabrications of groupies and other cult followers of celebrity idols. As shown by the Uanseru third wife palaver, many of the stories are fraught with wild embellishments and outright lies dedicated to whitewashing warts and hanging halos in the lives of the adoring fans’ favourite celebrities.

Sometimes, the embellishments are honed to edify or run down the famous person for whose sake they were mooted. Little wonder too much celebrity news amounts to baseless gossip. Such gossip includes the wild reports concerning Uanseru’s alleged plan to marry a third wife.
