Olanrewaju Kayode officially joins Gençlerbirliği, promised to deliver magical moments for the club’s fans.

Former Shakhtar Donetsk striker Olanrewaju Kayode joins Gençlerbirliği. He has promised to create magical moments at Gençlerbirliği after joining the Turkish Super Lig club, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.

“Gençlerbirliği has signed a two-year contract with 30-year-old Nigerian center forward Olarenwaju Ayobami Kayode,” the club confirmed his signing on their official website.

“An experienced player who also played for Gaziantep FK, Sivasspor, and Ümraniyespor in Turkey, he also played for teams such as ASEC Mimosas, AFAD Djekanou, FC Luzern, FC Heartland, Maccabi Netanya, Austria Wien, Manchester City, Girona FC and Shakhtar Donetsk.”

Kayode thereafter took to social media to express his happiness to have made the move while making a promise to the fans of Gençlerbirliği that he will create magical moments.

“A place call Home, it’s going to be Magical. God’s plan,” Kayode wrote to which the Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa replied, saying: “Congratulations bro, wishing you all the best.”

Kayode’s wife, Ezinne Dora Kayode who also doubles as the striker’s agent also expressed her excitement to have helped her husband complete the transfer to Gençlerbirliği.

“I have only one job when it comes to football which is to make sure you are happy and relaxed. My job is done, so it’s time to create magical moments with your new team and home.

The 30-year-old Kayode who once played for Nigeria’s under-20 team, the Flying Eagles and also has a few caps for the Super Eagles was a free agent after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expired.
