IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu finally ends sit-at-home for economic empowerment in S’East
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has issued a directive for his followers to dedicate every Monday to economic empowerment in the South-East region of Nigeria.
Following the recent cancellation of all forms of sit-at-home in the South-East, this new initiative named ‘Economic Empowerment Day (EED)’ is designed to mobilize resources towards reversing the region’s economic decline.
In a statement on Saturday, Comrade Emma Powerful, the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, explained that the EED (Economic Empowerment Day) will focus on improving educational and social conditions, which have been negatively impacted by the prolonged sit-at-home periods.
He stated, “The Economic Empowerment Day is a day for mass mobilization of Biafrans to devote their resources and means towards reversing the sharp decline in our economic, educational, and social needs.

“During this exercise, Biafrans are encouraged to embark on a massive deployment of their resources for the empowerment of the educationally disadvantaged and poverty-ridden population of our people.”
According to him, the EED initiative aims to help the Eastern region thrive and grow through education, employment, health services, and fostering a sense of identity and community.
He stressed that there is an urgent need to empower Ndigbo to live beyond subsistence, recognizing their global reputation for hard work, resilience, and achievement.
“Through the Economic Empowerment Day, our people and indeed, the Eastern region can begin to thrive and grow.
“It is time to rebuild our once-envied Eastern region – peaceful, accommodating, resilient, illustrious, and great – and reclaim our glory among nations,” Comrade Emma Powerful added.
In response to the concerns raised about the authenticity of Nnamdi Kanu’s handwritten letter, which conveyed the cancellation of the sit-at-home, the IPOB affirmed that it was not written under duress, compulsion, or influence.
Comrade Emma Powerful emphasized, “Anybody questioning the authenticity of the handwritten letter is patently dishonest and not worthy to be called a Biafran. Onyendu is very firm, and unshaken.
“Anybody who claims to know Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will also know that nobody will be courageous enough to coerce him to do anything that will jeopardise the restoration of Biafra.”
With this new initiative, the IPOB hopes to regain lost time due to the previous sit-at-home orders and drive the Eastern region towards economic development.
When Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, many in Nigeria’s elite circles questioned why one of the nation’s most prominent families would give their daughter’s hand to a musician.
But at the couple’s white wedding in Iceland, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, provided an answer that silenced critics by confirming Mr Eazi as an entrepreneur with businesses across 18 countries on the continent.
Below is a list of Mr Eazi’s businesses, not known to many Nigerians.
1- emPawa Africa – Founded in 2018, emPawa is a talent incubation and music distribution platform that has helped launch stars like Joeboy. It provides mentorship, funding, and resources for up-and-coming artists across Africa.
2- Zagadat Capital – Mr Eazi’s venture capital firm invests in startups in tech, media, and entertainment. Notable investments include:
3- pawaPay – A pan-African mobile payments company.
4- Thrive Agric – an agri-tech startup connecting farmers to investors.
5- BetPawa – A popular online betting platform.
6- Street Banker – A financial inclusion project for underserved communities.
7- Choplife Gaming & Choplife SoundSystem – Expanding beyond music, Eazi launched Choplife Gaming in 2022, a pan-African lottery and gaming company. His Choplife SoundSystem blends music, events, and lifestyle branding into a cultural business model.
Although less publicised, the singer has confirmed investments in real estate projects across Nigeria and Ghana, as well as hospitality ventures linked to his Choplife brand.
Through Zagadat Capital, Eazi also holds stakes in several fintech firms driving financial inclusion across Africa.
Now married into one of Nigeria’s most influential families, Mr Eazi embodies a hybrid lifestyle — blending music, global entrepreneurship, and elite family life.
For him, business has never been secondary.
As Dangote hinted, music may be just the tip of the iceberg. With ventures spread across at least 18 African countries, Eazi is positioning himself not just as a musician, but as one of the continent’s most ambitious entrepreneurs.
And with his marriage to Temi Otedola, many say the couple may just become Africa’s new symbol of power, wealth, and influence.

Prophet Ayodele has consistently been in the news week in, week out. It is either he is releasing a fresh prophecy that’s gaining traction or a previous prohecy has just come to fulfilment and people are talking about it.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele stated that the present administration is full of wrong advisers who are pushing for irrelevant policies, and making good advisers enemies of the president.
The prophet warned the president against making good advisers his enemies, as it will lead to the end of his government if care isn’t taken.
“Tinubu’s administration is full of wrong advisers; they are turning him against his good advisers, and he will make them his enemies. He is creating enemies, and those whom he thinks love him would be his worst enemies.
“There are lots of irrelevant policies they are using to kill Tinubu’s government; these are policies that will build up massive protests against the government and division. He should do the needful; there are several irrelevant policies already, but the focus ought to be on what will make people happy. “
Primate Ayodele mentioned some things the president should focus on, and they include development and surplus for the people. He stated that road construction is good, but it’s not enough for the people.
He commended the president for his efforts on insecurity but urged him to do more.
“Tinubu should focus on development, on how to create surplus for the people. Road construction is good, but it’s not the only thing people need; he needs to look into other areas.
“On insecurity, he is doing well, but he should do more, activate forest security in order to end kidnapping. He should increase the salaries of national assembly members because it will turn the nation into chaos. He should also eradicate darkness, and not add more tariffs and taxes to basic things in the country.”
