Ministerial slot: Tinubu steps on toes as three women make list

President Bola Tinubu is ready to step on toes of some political cabals who have been intensifying lobby on ministerial appointments to kick start his government fully.

The president who celebrated Eid-el-Kabir festival in his Lagos residence on Wednesday, has been rumoured to release the list full of surprise and intrigues next week. A source close to the presidency team disclosed that Tinubu refused to be sentimental in picking the best hands while some politicians are already feeling the heat of sideline in the government.

President Tinubu who recently attended a summit for ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, has vowed to fulfill all his campaign promises by taking Nigeria to the global map of success in his regime.

“It is not business as usual, President Tinubu is not joking and he’s not ready to take anything for granted as regarding his campaign promises, the list is full of intrigues, even till now, some politicians are still making effort to lobby but he has made up his mind to give the Nigeria best of ministers that would be held accountable for any misbehavior,” Our source said on Thursday Monday.

“Just few regular names are there, but I can confirm to you that the list has three to four young and vibrant women, full of energy to drive the government positively.”

Meanwhile, as Nigerians celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Labour Party, LP, yesterday, accused the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration of implementing anti-people policies they said had made it difficult for many people to celebrate.

The PDP and LP’s criticisms, which came on a day President Tinubu clocked one month in the saddle, elicited immediate response from the Presidency, which accused the PDP of being envious of Tinubu’s achievements in three weeks, saying the president did in three weeks what the PDP could not do in 16 years.

Similarly, the ruling APC urged Nigerians to continue to support President Tinubu because he is taking courageous and decisive steps to reposition Nigeria for rapid economic growth and wholesome greatness.

Eid al-Adha, otherwise known as Eid-el-Kabir or the Feast of Sacrifice, is a highly symbolic Islamic tradition and celebration that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.
