By Ismaila Adegbola
The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant. —Max DePree
Without mincing words, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the rave of the moment in Africa, the man who had defeated many storms, steps on many toes and set undisputed records in the space of short weeks as the President of the most populous African country.
Unlike many presidents of the past, the former governor of Lagos state came prepared. He had studied the pains of Nigerians and had gotten the gains but for reality, no pains heal immediately, that is the method of Asiwaju for Nigerians.
Only few had confidence in his ability while many had written him off even before the conducts of the elections but he went, saw and conquered. He has proven to be the real leader that befits our beloved country. No challenges that will defeat Asiwaju as Nigeria President, he has proven so much to the world that he is the real Jagaban of the universe. A super manager whose political experience is far beyond Pep Guardiola’s treble season.
Those who had underrated President Tinubu must have been having change of mind by now, this man score more than 30% in less than two months as President. He has put behind all the banters, abuse and hypocrites of opposition parties to rule a unified country.
His recent speech in Paris Summit showed that President Tinubu is a class of greatness and history. Every President was anxious of meeting him, the captains of industry were able to interact, within short days, he became the stars of the week in Paris.
His fast approach to right the wrong in a damaging country try like Nigeria is worth celebrating. And the most interesting part is that Nigerians are believing in him, not only in Nigeria but also Diaspora where he had interacted with elites to revealed major factors why he took some drastic decisions to save Nigeria from total collapse.
In the interest of Diaspora, Asiwaju has more to give, more to adopt and more to sacrifice as Nigeria President. As much as I agreed that Nigerians in Diaspora contributed to the country’s economy base on records, it will also remains landslide record to allow Diaspora voting during his regime. This will allow Nigerians outside the country to have opportunity to exercise their right legally. Especially, as you are about taking Nigeria to the promise land. It is hypocritical for anybody to deny His Excellency maximum points over what I can described as preamble of success in Nigeria.
Nigerians in Diaspora believe that major transformation in the country will be multiple blessings for those in Diaspora. As a matter of fact, many Nigerians in Diaspora are eager to see this dreams come to true.
According to Warren Bennis, he said: “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” The genius of President Tinubu can actually stage back Nigeria as the real giants of Africa.
It has become norms for Nigeria media to await breakthrough news from the presidency every week. Anxiety has taking place in many Federal agencies, while the President has continued to releases his joker. He has been unapologetic to anybody. His method of leadership is so encouraging while many heads continue to roll.
Asiwaju’s style of leadership is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. He’s indeed a political colossus.
