BREAKING: Tinubu Takes Fresh Order Against Wike; What May Likely Happen

On Monday, new developments indicated that the impeachment effort against Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara may be losing momentum, with reports of quiet negotiations and intervention from President Bola Tinubu.

Last Thursday, 26 lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Rivers State House of Assembly, believed to be aligned with Minister Nyesom Wike, initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, citing allegations of gross misconduct.

According to Vanguard, the President also asked the lawmakers to consult the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, for further guidance. Tinubu was further said to have cautioned the legislators against any moves that could deepen divisions or further polarise the state.
