The family of Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo has announced the passing of Chief (Mrs) Lucia Onabowale Onabanjo, the former First Lady and wife of the late Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, who served as the first civilian governor of Ogun State from October 1979 to December 1983.

She passed away at the age of 100 on January 11, 2026.

In a statement released to P.M.NEWS, the family expressed their deep regret while also expressing gratitude to God for the fulfilled life of Chief (Mrs) Onabowale Onabanjo.

They described her as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, emphasizing the legacy of love, strength, and faith she leaves behind.
