BREAKING: Tinubu Makes Fresh Top Appointment

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for approval as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), representing the North East zone.

This nomination was announced during a Senate plenary session by the Senate President, who noted that it aligns with the requirements set out in the NDDC Establishment Act. Dr. Marwa’s appointment is intended to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, the previous board member, who stepped down on March 30, 2026, to pursue his gubernatorial aspirations in Adamawa State.

President Tinubu expressed optimism that the Senate would promptly consider and confirm Dr. Marwa’s nomination, enabling the board to continue its mandate of driving development in the region.

The nomination was referred to the Senate Committee on NDDC for screening and further legislative action.
